Description

In the magical box of memory of Soma Morgenstern there are many treasures that he shares on the pages of his autobiography. The author's father was the manager of the estates in several villages in Podillia. In 1904–1912, Soma Morgenstern studied at the Polish gymnasium in Ternopil. Therefore, the background of this book is the rural environment of Podillia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as the life of Ternopil in the early 20th century.

These are stories full of love, wisdom and humor, the main characters of which are the author's relatives and fellow villagers: Ukrainians, Jews, Poles. These are stories about large and small events of that time: the first peasant strike in one of the villages, the laying of the railway track, the first airplane flight over Ternopil, the arrival of the sensational Buffalo Bill circus in Ternopil, etc.
