When soldiers write, their words take on a special weight.
These words are imbued (filled) with an experience that no one wanted, but which cannot be avoided. These words cannot just fly into the air like kites; they grow into the ground on which they stand (the author stands).
“Flaws of Perfection” is the debut poetry collection of philosopher and soldier Oleksandr Komarov. The poems, written partly before the war and partly in its whirlpool, reflect the experience of extreme human experiences. The subject of the author’s poetic reflections is inspiration and despair, love and loss, horror and determination — those phenomena of the soul that sharpen the sense of being and reveal its deepest dimensions.
