A vegetarian

Jing-hai woke up one morning with the realization that she would never eat meat again. This concludes the classic plot familiar to the reader. The genre of the novel by the South Korean writer Han Kang balances between a domestic thriller, a parable of transformation and a tree-loving meditation, and the story is told on behalf of the heroine's worthless husband who works in an office, an obsessed artist brother-in-law and a worried older sister. These heroes work, experience the torment of creativity, arrange their own lives, but Jing-hai herself stops doing anything at all
