The proposed edition aims to convey to true connoisseurs of Shevchenko's words his most complete poetic legacy, which combined all the works that were subject to censorship both during the tsarist and Soviet times. About twenty (!) percent of the poems contain lines that the reader will not find in any other "Kobzarev" - from individual words, phrases to whole pages of text! Sometimes such restored fragments fundamentally change the perception and understanding of the work as a whole.
A lot of unique everyday documents, poets' autographs of poems, letters, photos and self-portraits will help you immerse yourself in Shevchenko's era.
And finally, the entire collection, from the first to the last page, as well as comments, notes, and articles, is standardized for the first time according to the rules of the repressed Ukrainian spelling of 1928 (the so-called "Kharkiv" or "Skrypnikov" spelling), which, according to scientists -philologists, is historically and phonetically consonant with the language in which the Poet spoke to us.
