H.G. Wells (1866–1946) was a British writer who is called the father of science fiction, the author of more than fifty novels, numerous popular science books and dozens of short stories.
In the novel "War of the Worlds", Wells, a philosopher by training, gives vivid characterizations to his contemporaries, while telling an extraordinary story that will satisfy the reader who is inclined to philosophical reflection and a sense of dramatic tension.
The author suggests imagining and experiencing an invasion of a world that was once the place of your existence, but has now turned into a ruined shadow of what you knew, without familiar people and the remnants of the place you call home.
