War

The events in the novel "War" unfold during the First World War in Flanders. The main character, a soldier Ferdinand, received a severe concussion after artillery fire. An unknown English soldier helps the hero get to a field hospital located in a church. After some time, the wounded man is transported by train to a hospital in the small town of Perdu-sur-la-Lise. Ferdinand's stay here stretches for many weeks until he leaves for London. He meets other wounded men, makes friends with the pimp Beber and the ward nurses.
