Sometimes the truth is unbearable
Criminal profiler Renee Fisher and detective Daniel Ellis are trying to heal their childhood traumas, the effects of which persist for several decades. Searches for answers and unites them. As is the crime they have to solve before someone else is killed.
At a campsite on the Pacific Trail in California, a guide is killed and three young tourists disappear without a trace. The only clue is a puzzle in itself: a video of the crime scene, which looks more like a creepy set-up, has been uploaded to social media. The girl who posted it cannot be found. Is it a viral prank gone wrong, or is there something truly sinister going on in the woods?
The situation escalates when one of the missing is found barely alive, but unconscious. As Renee and Daniel try to separate truth from fiction, a secret past collides with the present, threatening to tear their relationship apart. Will the truth they have been searching for become a burden in the end? Will this state of affairs finally break them?
