Volodymyr Ivasyuk is a brilliant and mysterious figure in Ukrainian culture. His music is eternal, and his life and death raise many questions. People sing Ivasyuk's works without knowing who the author was, because his songs have long become truly folk.
The art album "Volodymyr Ivasyuk. A Song That Was Worth Life, But Gave Immortality" is an attempt by the author to combine her own memories and reflections with the memories of Volodymyr Ivasyuk's contemporaries and to introduce the reader to a man whose life has become a legend.
Olena Bilous, a physician by profession, in her book placed great emphasis on Volodymyr Ivasyuk's medical education, since all of his most famous works were written while studying at the Chernivtsi Medical Institute. The album contains many original photographs from the archive of the Chernivtsi Regional Memorial Museum of Volodymyr Ivasyuk and photographs from the private collections of the heroes of this book.
The album contains a lot of information about the composer's childhood and the role of his father in shaping his son's talent, about his first attempts at music and songs, about family life and picturesque descriptions of Bukovina, about ups and downs, about triumph and drama, and most importantly - about Love, which was doomed to immortality from birth.
