As children, Sam and Ellie were like two halves of one whole: identical beauties, whom even their parents could not tell apart. The girls fell asleep listening to each other's breathing, and held hands until dawn. And in Hollywood, they often played the same roles.

But adult life separated the sisters. Ellie gave up acting and found herself, becoming the perfect housewife: she married a lawyer and settled in a house near the beach. Sam, on the other hand, could never recover from the collapse of her Hollywood career. The alcohol and pills, on which she had been holding on for the past fifteen years, only exacerbated the problem.

Sam hasn't spoken to her sister since her destructive behavior put the final nail in the coffin of their relationship, so she's caught off guard by a phone call from her parents. It turns out that Ellie isn't doing well either: her husband no longer lives with her, and she's just adopted a two-year-old girl. Now Ellie hasn't answered her calls, and her weekend at the spa has apparently dragged on. Her sister just needs a little rest, or is she in trouble? Is this spa a bit like a cult? Trying to piece together all the i's, Sam realizes that her bond with her sister is much stronger than she imagined.
