I am standing in a long line with other soldiers. Roman Zakrevskyi

“I am standing in a long line with other servicemen” is a collection of essays by photographer and videographer Roman Zakrevskyi, who joined the army in 2023. It begins with the moment when the author goes to the military registration and enlistment office, still completely unaware of how life in war works and what awaits him next. With each subsequent essay, he immerses the reader deeper into the atmosphere of military life, introduces the people he met in service, and reflects on his own role in the army and the country — about himself as an individual and about himself as part of a large system. The collection is supplemented with documentary and artistic photographs by the author.
