"What shall we call this war?"is a rich chronicle of two years of Ukrainian resistance in a full-scale war with Russia. Key events from February 24, 2022, documentary photos, battle maps, illustrations, memes and infographics - on the pages of the publication from the Ukrainer team.
Each month of the event chronicle ends with texts by intellectuals, which are a reaction to current news or moods. In particular: Roman Ratushny, Oksana Zabuzhko, Timothy Snyder, Oleksandra Matviychuk, Artem Chech, Iryna Tsylyk, Pavel Kazarin, Vitaly Portnikov, Volodymyr Yermolenko, Vakhtang Kebuladze, Tamila Tasheva, Yevhen Hlibovytskyi and other authors.
The edition opens with texts about the prerequisites of Russia's attack on Ukraine by Ukrainer and researcher Igor Kromph, in which it is explained in the language of facts why Russia's aggression against Ukraine lasts not two or ten years, but much longer.
This book is a kind of cast of history at the moment of its creation. It was born from the desire to write one's own history already, to find words to describe the common experience and to tell the world about the full-scale war with Russia from the point of view of Ukrainians. It is about the front and the rear, mutual aid, international support, experiencing common tragedies and achievements, culture and humor - about the different dimensions of the life of the country and society during the war.
Specialist consultants of the project: Ivan Naumenko, director of the department of strategic initiatives of the BF "Return alive", and Serhiy Karnaukh, colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
