Little Varya lives in a family where, despite the presence of both parents, there is no adult. Mom and dad are not capable of feelings and care, so the girl has to explore the world on her own. Often due to trauma.

Varya is looking for a sense of security and finds something very similar to it – a feeling of satiety. Thus is born the ritual of sacred eating of food, which fascinates the girl for many years and decades. Ahead of the adult Varya is a long journey through the labyrinths of distorted consciousness caused by this mistaken identification of form and content, food and love.

This is a frank and touching story about trauma and healing – a novel of a symptom, as Lyubko Deresh says about it. The author Karina Savaryna is known for her autofictions about infertility (Not Pregnant) and adoption (MOM). This is the third book in her maternal cycle – about the inner child.
