Confused and disoriented, Georgina Ferrars wakes up in a small room at Tregannon House, a private asylum in a remote corner of England. She has no memory of the past few weeks. Dr. Maynard Strecker informs her that the day before she had called herself Lucy Ashton, and then had a seizure.
