Description

The famous French writer George Sand wrote not only for adults. Her "Grandmother's Tales" were published in France, which she told her grandchildren at bedtime, inventing them during the story, and later wrote them down. One of these tales - "The Castle of Pictordu", which the writer dedicated to her granddaughter Aurora Sand - is being published for the first time in a Ukrainian translation with beautiful illustrations by Anastasia Zvyaga.

The artist Flochard takes his sickly eight-year-old daughter Diana from the monastery. Due to an unfortunate traffic incident, they are forced to spend the night in the deserted and abandoned Castle of Pictordu. However, it is there that an incredible adventure awaits Diana: she meets a mysterious lady in a veil, who shows her the former beauty of the castle. This meeting radically changes the girl's life. Later, having significantly surpassed her father in talent, Diana becomes an extraordinary artist and also a benefactor.
