This amazing drawing appeared in the first edition of the "Purple Book of Tales" by the Scottish poet and anthropologist Andrew Lang.
Compiled in 1901 by Andrew Lang and illustrated by Henry Justice Ford, this book is part of a 12-volume collection known as The Colored Tales.
Each book in the collection is named after the color of its fairy.
