An old estate, an earthly feast, a wedding. The son of a prince with black blood and the daughter of his blood enemy — a marriage doomed from the beginning. The groom is surrounded by four of his closest friends. One of them betrayed him and is waiting for his enemies.

Dozens of Muscovites rush along the road to the estate. They consider the prince an avenger who is punishing them for the cruel massacre. The table is covered with a tablecloth embroidered with hawks, the violin and cymbals are playing. The wine is fresh as water, the bride shines with beauty… Suddenly, in the midst of the feast, a demon appears to take the prince to execution for the sin of his father.

This book is a bizarre story of love and revenge, set during the Hetmanate in a city where oaths are unbreakable, revenge is as fierce as fire, and love is stronger than death.
