A little funny, a little sad, sometimes even tragicomic, like, in fact, life itself - that's how one of the first book bestsellers of independent Ukraine, Svitlana Pyrkalo's novel "Green Margarita" presented itself to the reader. The novel was first published in 2000, when Ukrainian literature was just learning to speak freely, without clichés, with humor, but now seriously, recovering from decades of totalitarian aesthetics. Then critics called it "the first Ukrainian youth novel." However, this book is much more than just a "young adult novel".
