In partnership with the Babyn Yar National Reserve, our editorial team has taken on an extremely complex and important topic - the extermination of the Roma people during World War II.
We have created an almost encyclopedic context of the Roma history of Europe. From the tragic pages of genocide to cultural revival. From the destroyed camps in Babyn Yar to today's Roma presence in theater, media, politics, and in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The symbolic center of the issue is the "Roma Kybytka" in Babyn Yar - a monument at the site of mass executions. It is not only a sign of grief, but also a reminder of the absence of a state Roma museum, of the need to preserve the material culture of the Roma.
But we are not only talking about losses - we are showing a living, dignified, strong Roma presence. And we insist: it must be visible, recognized, and preserved.
