This issue of the magazine focuses on the phenomenon of the Grynyov Art Collection — one of the most consistent and interesting private collections of contemporary Ukrainian art. The issue is based on an interview with Borys and Tetiana Hryniovy, a long-term dialogue with whom for the editorial staff of Antikvar became a space of trust, cooperation and joint understanding of the nature of collecting.
The materials of the issue cover a wide range of topics: from exhibition projects and the life of art in wartime conditions — to the presence of Ukrainian artists in an international context, in particular at the Pompidou Center. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the collection as a living structure, formed through long-term coexistence with art, dialogue with artists and a responsible attitude to the preservation and interpretation of cultural heritage.
The issue presents texts by leading art historians and curators, studies of individual artistic phenomena and figures — from Serhii Paradzhanov to Vitalii Shakhovtsov, as well as reflections on the interaction of science and art, photography and visual culture.
The value of the magazine lies in the depth of expert insight and in revealing the collection not only as a private collection, but as an open system and cultural institution that responds to the challenges of the time. The publication will be of interest to both specialists and a wide audience seeking to better understand contemporary Ukrainian art, its contexts, and the role of private initiatives in shaping the cultural environment.
