The history of Ukrainian-Jewish coexistence is long and dramatic, thousands of years old.
Practically the forty-second issue of the magazine "KINO-KOLO" is dedicated to Ukrainian-Israeli mutual understanding and coexistence. It was born with the active support of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Kyiv.

Lesya Ukrainka wrote a poem 120 years ago in which she compared the fate of Ukraine with the fate of Israel, the struggle of the Ukrainian people with the thousand-year struggle of the Jews with their eternal enemies for selfhood, for freedom, for their own state.
And you once fought like Israel,
My Ukraine! God himself set
against you the inexorable force
of blind fate. He surrounded you
with nations that, like lions in the desert,
roared, thirsting for your blood,
sent upon you such darkness that in it
brothers did not recognize their relatives
and in the darkness someone invincible,
some spirit of the times, who cried out hostilely:
"Death to Ukraine"!
