Description

The book collects Stefan Taranushenka's explorations devoted to five destroyed masterpieces of Ukrainian wooden sacred architecture: the Trinity Church of 1710 in the village of Pakul in Chernihiv Oblast, the Intercession Church of 1759 in the town of Zinkiv in Poltava Oblast, the Ascension Church of 1759–1761 in the town of Berezna in Chernihiv region, the Vvedensky church of 1761 in the village of Artemivka in Kharkiv region, the Mykolaiv church of the 1760s in the village of Novi Mlyny in Chernihiv region. In the 1920s and 1930s, the author managed to measure and photograph them before the total destruction of sacred art monuments by the Soviet authorities.
In the publication, at the end of each exploration, there is a qr-code, by scanning which, the reader will be able to familiarize himself with 3D models of the destroyed temples and get a comprehensive idea of the masterpieces of Ukrainian wooden sacred architecture that we have not preserved.
