The novellas of the anthology, like Arab arabesques, create an incredibly colorful, yet harmoniously inspired pattern of themes, variations, ideas, and moods of red literature.

The anthology "Arabesques" includes the best examples of Ukrainian short prose of the first half of the 20th century. There are texts among them in the style of realism and modernism, poetry in prose, examples of impressionism, psychological and symbolic novellas, and examples of novelized biographies, which were among the first in world literature to be written by Ukrainian artists.

On the pages of this anthology, we will get to the shores of the Black and Azov seas thanks to Lesia Ukrainka and Dniprova Chaika, drive through the Kononiv fields, look into the workshops of artists, musicians, actors, and astronomers, learn about the hard talent of migrants, lawyers, and prostitutes, as well as together with the heroes of N. Kobrynska, we will meet people who are close in spirit, and with the characters of M. Khvylovy, we will try to observe how the author creates a novel.
