Jennifer Saint's novel "Atalanta" is dedicated to the heroine of Greek mythology, the favorite of the goddess Artemis.
King Yas of Arcadia has a daughter, but he dreamed of an heir. Yas gives the order to leave the baby on the mountainside. By chance, the goddess Artemis notices the child and takes her under her care. The goddess gives the girl the name Atalanta, which means - fast, strong, invincible. Atalanta grows up in the forest with the cubs of a bear and becomes an invincible opponent on the battlefield and the fastest runner. Young Atalanta joins Jason's Argonauts with the blessing of Artemis.
But will Atalanta be able to take her place in a world created for men?
