Бородатий Тамарин

Bearded Tamarin is a nonfiction and science fiction publishing house founded in November 2022 by the Kidruk family.

We don’t chase bestsellers, but select books that we read ourselves and that, in our opinion, are lacking in the Ukrainian market. And most importantly, we seriously bother.

A few words about the name.

When coming up with it, we first of all thought about primates. These are the most highly developed mammals, with the exception of humans, funny and wise in their own way, and it seemed to us that this combination of fun and wisdom would suit the books that we would publish. But there were no normal primate names. Gorilla — too rude, baboon — hackneyed, bonobo — there is such a singer. In the end, we even abandoned the idea, since the search among non-monkey names also yielded no results.

Driven to despair, we went to Google to ask: how to choose a name for a publishing house? And we came across an article whose authors insisted that the name is secondary at all - outside the circle of the most ardent fans, few people remember all these HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster or Macmillan. The logo is more important, and according to research, the most successful in terms of recognition are logos with animals. Like the penguin at Penguin Books.

The next step was logical: Google - images - photos of the cutest animals. There was nothing there. A miniature fennec fox - cute, but incongruous. A dwarf quokka kangaroo - cute, but would be more suitable for a children's literature publishing house. And then we saw him - a bearded tamarin.

So meet the publishing house "Bearded Tamarin". Give us a chance to introduce you to good books!
