One of two rare ornamental compositions bordering on a still-life sketch: pale pink tulips arranged on a black background.

The artist presents a different shape of the petals and a different number of leaves, but the general pattern of the ornament and the principle of its "growth" are clear: the flowers intertwine in an opposite diagonal movement.

The black background creates the effect of highlighting the flowers and emphasizes the feeling of their defenselessness.

The sketch is kept in a private collection.
