The works of the Roman writer Lucius Annaeus Seneca (1st century BC), which differ in genre, the tragedy "Phaedra", the satirical parody "Apotheosis of the divine Claudius" and epigrams unite the ideas of Stoicism. The pernicious lust of Queen Phaedra, vanity, arbitrariness of Emperor Claudius, or other human sins that contradict the principles of the Stoics are exposed by the artist-philosopher in a unique artistic form. These works organically complement and express the artistic picture of the world of Seneca - a Stoic philosopher and writer.
