In the days when Wollongong tea had no name in Formosa, thousands of sailing ships filled every major Qing port. Loaded to the brim with goods, they sailed with the wind, returned to Britain, and then their goods traveled all over Europe. Among the most important goods was tea, a drink second only to water in popularity.
1865, Taiwan. In the port of Danshui, which has only been open for a few years, merchant ships are flocking and foreign companies are becoming more and more numerous. This is a new homeland for emigrants, a free land full of chances and risks, and simply a paradise for adventure seekers.
