Is there a person in the world who does not know the stories of the Snow Queen, Thumbelina, the Steadfast Tin Soldier, or the prince disguised as the Pig Herder? Or haven't you heard about the author of these extraordinary and fascinating fairy tales - the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen? In sensual, witty, sometimes sad, or sharply satirical stories created by Andersen's imagination, readers of every age will find an echo of their own experiences or thoughts. Free from teachings inherent in works based on folklore, although they are called fairy tales, the stories of H.Kh. Andersen have been entertaining and delighting people for over 200 years.
It is known that the works of the storyteller Andersen are among the most frequently published worldwide; they have been translated into more than 150 languages. The book, published by Nebo BookLab Publishing in 2019, includes eleven of the most famous works of H.H. Andersen, written by him both for children and adults, including "Ole Lukoye", "Cresalo", "The Princess on the Pea", "The Nightingale" and the already mentioned "Thumble", "Swineherd" and others.
They were illustrated by the famous Austrian artist Lisbeth Zwerger, awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Prize in 1990. Her watercolors, sparkling with different colors, and exquisitely beautiful in their simplicity, accurately convey the mood of each fairy tale and the inner complexity of the characters created by the imagination of the famous storyteller.
