Details about the history of the creation of "Kholodny Yar" - memoirs of a soldier, which are easy to read, like an adventure novel, and useful as a fact-rich source about a little-known page of our history: the insurgent movement under the banner of the Ukrainian People's Republic. For the first time since 1961, the authentic text is presented. Additionally, this is the first academic edition to reflect all known surviving editions from 1932 to 1938.
The book is supplemented with articles in which Horlis-Horskyi's memoirs are considered as a historical source, and some remarks are also made about his biography, which was extremely difficult to research.
