Crimean fig. Bizimkiler

The book presents the best works of the Fifth Ukrainian-Crimean Tatar Literary Competition “Crimean Fig / Qırım inciri”. They are written in pixel art at the front and in civilian clothes in the rear, in Crimea and other regions of Ukraine.

“Crimean Fig / Qırım inciri” is getting closer to the present: kidnapped and disappeared Crimeans, political prisoners, a memory of our outstanding contemporary historian Oleksa Haivoronskyi (1974–2023). At the same time, attention is paid to the topic of the painful return of Crimean Tatars to their homeland, the motive of expulsion from the community, memories of childhood trauma - the loss of a dog, and there is also “souvenir literature” - a love story at the festival in Koktebel.

The authors of the works and translations turn to philosophical mysticism, fantasy, humorous plots, reflections on man in the world and in society.

A novelty of the fifth competition is the nomination "Essays", here essays in Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar are presented.

Among the translations are works by Yusuf Bolat, Seiran Ibrahimov, Lina Kostenko, Bohdan Lepkyi, Osman Osmanov, Maiie Safet, Ivan Franko.

Works in Crimean Tatar are presented in Cyrillic and Latin scripts.

Traditionally, the book begins with an essay by the founder of the competition, Alim Aliyev, and the Fig Speech, delivered at the awarding of the finalists, this time by Yevhen Hlibovytskyi.
