Cantonese opera is included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO and is considered one of the most melodious. It originated in the modern province of Gwandong, and thanks to its performance in the Cantonese dialect, this genre of opera became popular in Hong Kong, Macau and Southeast Asia.
