What remains for a mother when life takes away the most precious thing from her - her own child and she finds herself in the abyss of despair and powerlessness? Where does she get the strength not to go crazy from the indescribable pain and universal sorrow that has already settled in her heart forever?

In her new book, Maria Matios tells the stories of five women. All of them are different, each has its own fate, but one thing unites them - the worst thing that can happen to a mother is the loss of her only son. Each of them experiences grief in their own way, and together they complement each other and reveal all the depth and despair of the tragedy of orphaned motherhood.

"Moms" is a heavy, dramatic book. It is impossible not to sympathize with her characters, just as it is impossible not to pay attention to the acute questions raised by the famous Ukrainian writer in her latest book.
