LGBT novel, winner of the 2020 Taiwan Literary Award
Chen Tianhong, the youngest son in a traditional Taiwanese family, flees to Berlin from the oppression and cruelty of his hometown of Yongjin. Along the way, he, a young writer and gay, hopes to find understanding and acceptance.
However, in the end, Chen is forced to return to the only city that is his home, where his sisters are waiting for him: married, crazy or dead - as well as painful memories. The story slowly develops, revealing the truth about what destroyed the Chen family and what forced the main character to commit murder.
Made up of echoes of the voices of the living and the dead, the novel "Ghost Town" weaves a web of family secrets and provincial prejudices, the confrontation of cultures and the discovery of one's own identity.
