This book is a reprint of a rare album dedicated to the folk art of the Ukrainian Carpathians, first published in Prague in russian, Czech, and English in 1925-1926 under the title «Folk Art of Subcarpathian Rus» (edited by S.K. Makovskyi).

The publication contains 100 black-and-white and 10 color tables of illustrations, which presents more than 300 unique examples of folk art: wood carvings and ceramics, clothing and jewelry, embroidery, fabrics, wooden architecture, etc. Geographically, both the Galician and Transcarpathian Hutsul regions are represented; covering more than 70 settlements of the Ukrainian Carpathians.

A foreword of the famous Ukrainian art critic prof. M.R. Selivachov supplements the album, as well with a geographical index.
