Obsessed with Death. Lucie Faulerova

The main character of the story "Obsessed with Death" by Lucie Faulerová encounters several tragic family events that may seem incomprehensible, and tries to find their cause. However, the path forward cannot be overcome without looking back.

From the family album-text, where events change in a whirlwind of a kaleidoscope, the following slowly disappear: the mother, who could not bear the difficulties of responsibility for the child's illness; the sister, who took her own life because she was completely satisfied with life; even the narrator herself, seeking encounters with Death and learning about the world through self-harm. And her inner goddess Marena, whom she saved from the annual drowning in a ritual act as a teenager, runs away from her and hides, not wanting to have anything to do with her disabilities.

The poetic precision of the prose, subtle humor, surreal visions and absurd ways of knowing reality, the intertwining of Eros and Thanatos, as well as the undeniable urge to overcome death with death - these are the components of that universe of those obsessed with death who actually yearn for life.
