Three paintings from Armenia, Georgia, and Ukraine tell the story of past and present wars and their consequences through the lens of female experiences of eyewitnesses, participants, and those whose lives changed forever in an instant.
The project focuses on military conflicts that have had a significant impact on the Caucasus region and Eastern Europe: the war in Abkhazia, Georgia (1992–1993), the Russian-Georgian war (2008), the Karabakh conflict (Artsakh) and the Second Karabakh War (1988–2023), as well as the Russian-Ukrainian war (from 2014 to the present).
