Slovenia. Idyllic Lake Bohinj, surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks. New Year's Eve. The senior inspector of the Ljubljana police department, Taras Birsa, returning home through a blizzard, came across a girl who found the body of a young woman disfigured beyond recognition in the lake. Who is this? Liquidated witness to the invention worth millions of dollars? Innocent prey of a maniac? Or maybe she crossed the path of the mafia? The inspector is assigned to investigate, but how to find the killer if you don't know who the victim is?
