Before being reborn, the souls of all the dead go to the Afterlife. It is there that those who were not afraid of sin during their life are judged and punished. The lord of the underworld, Yanlwo, sits on a raised bench at the judgment table, prescribing the penances to be performed before rebirth. On either side of him are his assistants Panguan Black and White, and they are surrounded by generals Bullhead and Honeybee with the rest of the demonic servants. The living are not allowed to visit the Afterlife unless they have a special pass - Passes.
When the orderly life of the Underworld is turned upside down due to the disappearance of the Master, Black and White are forced to leave their duties and go in search of him. Their destination is the world of people, "an island state of the East, a place of strange phenomena."
Grasping for every hint of mysticism and the supernatural, the pangwans encounter, however, not only ghosts, demons and monsters... After all, the human heart is the real source of strange phenomena.
