A play on the "great American novel" (several generations of the same family against the background of historical events) performed by Ukrainian emigrants in the USA. They make friends with the last Indians (and teach them the Ukrainian language), open a label printing house during Prohibition, become silent film stars, fight in the Second World War (dreaming of reaching the Old Country) and so on. All this is told by the Ukrainian Jonathan, an old former military cook, one of the last people left to live in the village of Sparrows in Chattahoochee County, Georgia.
