Ukrainian folk Easter egg. What does the Easter egg say? Taking an Easter egg in your hand - this tiny miracle created by the hands of a simple woman from a distant Ukrainian village - it is hard to imagine that almost the same one once, perhaps several thousand years ago, was held in his hand by our ancestor, painting solar signs on it: a dynamic swastika or a sophisticated spiral, or suddenly the rain will glisten in lines on its surface and countless dots will scatter seeds, or an ancient god will stare into his soul with "ox eyes". Or will some artist-philosopher suddenly put red meanders on it against a black background? However, for us, modern people, these characters are as incomprehensible as Chinese hieroglyphs, and that is why we hope that this small book will help you discover the vast expanse of Ukrainian culture and perhaps make you an ardent supporter of the old folk art of writing Easter eggs, which has almost been lost. irretrievably in the Soviet period. But the tradition, thank God, has not completely disappeared and through this publication we will be able to increase the number of Easter egg patterns in the treasury of Ukrainian culture, which, we believe, will undergo thorough scientific research and sustain the development of authentic crafts.
