The book presents the embroidered ancient clothes and costumes of Zhydachivshchyna from the collection of the Museum of Folk Architecture and Life named after Klymentii Sheptytskyi.

For the first time, the text of the expedition materials collected on Zhydachivshchyna by Liubov Svarnyk is published. The article provides a description of the artistic features of the clothes of this area with the terminology used at the end of the 19th century. Zhydachivshchyna is one of the few ethnic regions where embroidery is closely combined with weaving, so the publication presents fragments of woven clothing fabrics. The photo fragments are presented in life size showing the reverse side of the embroidery and weaving. The presented patterns can be used for reproduction of copies, embroidery of modern clothes and any other creativity.

The purpose of the publication is to popularize authentic Ukrainian ornaments of a specific ethnic region, to fill the information space with quality products, and to support the embroidery industry as an art.

The book is intended for pupils, students, and teachers of art universities and a wide range of connoisseurs of Ukrainian folk art, everyone who wants to reproduce authentic samples of Ukrainian embroidery.
