At the age of twelve, Rudy makes a seemingly senseless and symbolic gesture: in an attempt to symbolically say goodbye to childhood, the boy fires a rifle into the air. The bullet, having described an arc, kills a young pregnant woman. Rudy's father takes the blame for the tragedy. And the boy himself, having received the nickname "Yablochko", sets off into adulthood with a sense of guilt, which he tries to get rid of by creating plays. But will this help him?
