The second issue of the magazine "Ukrainian Theater" is published with the hashtag "Collision Lines". On the cover is a poster by Serhiy Masloboyshchikov for the play "Othello" by David Petrosyan. Its premiere took place at the end of April at the National Theater of Lesya Ukrainka. A block of materials about this performance opens the issue.
In addition, the magazine consists of four thematic parts.
The "War" section is dedicated to front-line and border theaters - in Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, theaters from Mariupol and Siversko-Donetsk. There are author's columns of theater actors who defend the country in the army.
The section "Everyday" is about trends, discussions, transformations of the theater. And about really well-made performances.
In the "Game" section, reviews of experts of the VI International Festival-award "Game" are published on performances of theaters in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Rivne, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, Lutsk - premieres in 2023.
In this edition of "Ukrainian Theater" there is a new section - "Contexts".
"We are used to dreaming about Europe, and we did not immediately notice that Europe is already here or we are already there. We look closely at each other at festivals. We are interested in them - but they are also interested in us. We stage plays at their place, but they also play at ours. If we collected all such contacts of recent times, this magazine would not be enough," the publication says.
